awards in Valencian Language
Real Academia de Cultura
Valenciana (RACV) / Royal Academy of Valencian Culture.
Founded in 1915 as Centre de Cultura Valenciana by the Valencia City
Council and the Diputacio Provincial (Provincial Government). In 1981 its normative
proposals for codifying the Valencian language were passed by the new Valencian Autonomous
Government, thus being the first oficial norm for written Valencian in history.
Lo Rat Penat
Venerable institution founded in 1878 to promote the Valencian language and culture. Its
courses on these matters under Franco's dictatorship allowed some kind of continuity of
our culture during such a difficult time.
Publishing houses and periodicals
Accio
Bibliografica Valenciana
One of the main publishing houses in Valencian. It publishes the Revista de Filologia
Valenciana / Journal of Valencian Philology (ISSN 1135-1986), the most relevant
scientific periodical in our language.
l'Oronella
The most productive publishing house in Valencian language. Its lines include
modern literature and popularization of Valencian classics. Furthermore, it publishes the
literary magazine Lletraferit (ISSN 1136-8179), likely the most spreaded
periodical in Valencian.
El Palleter
Magazine of news and updates on Valencian language. Its style is fresh and
popular. The web site is updated weekly.
Del Senia al Segura
Another major publishing house in Valencian. It has published the Dictionary of
the RACV, now an essential reference for written Valencian. You can contact them in:

Taula Valenciana
d'Autors Teatrals
Association born in 1990. It gathers the most relevant Valencian dramatic
authors and has an important editorial production.
Amics de la Real Acadèmia de
Cultura Valenciana
Association born in 1986 to suport the activities and cultural tasks
of the Royal Academy of Valencian Culture, mainly the promotion of the
Valencian language and culture.
CJAV
Group of 32 youth valencianist associations, extended through all
Valencian geography and compromised in the defence and promotion of the
Valencian culture.
Colectiu Aitana
New cultural association established and focused in the Valencian regions
of L’Alcoyà, La Foya de Castalla
and El Comtat. It is also devoted to popularizing valencianism and the
Valencian language and culture.
Colectiu Nacionaliste
Group of young members of several associations that share a firm
determination to develop a strictly valencianist and nationalist project.
EVP
Estudiants Valencianistes de la Politecnica. Association of the
Students of the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
Lo Regne en Accio
Selection of articles about the creation of the polemic Acadèmia
Valenciana de la Llengua (AVL, Valencian Academy of the Language) and
about the Valencian language.
Mossarabia
Youth cultural association in the Marina Baixa region.
Plataforma "Normes d'El Puig"
Protesting platform constituted by more than 60 associations of all the
Valencian territory, whose main purpose is to defend the Valencian
language and to promote the normativisation for Valencian proposed by the
Real Academia de Cultura Valenciana.
Llengua Valenciana Si
This site disagrees in some aspects with the philological directions
of the RACV, but even so it contains very interesting information about
our language..
Valencia to the World
This web is specially interesting because here you can see pictures taken at the
great demonstration of June 1997. Almost half a million citizens demanded the regional
authorities to respect the law (Estatut d'Autonomia or Statute of Autonomy) and therefore
preserve the valencianity of our mother language.
Biblioteca Valenciana
Created by the Valencian Government (Consell de la Generalitat Valenciana)
in 1985, it is technically the National Valencian Library.
Biblioteca Valenciana Digital
Developed by the Biblioteca Valenciana, it is a virtual library of the
cultural and historic bibliographic Valencian heritage.
